Anywhere With Jesus

Anywhere with Jesus I can safely go. Anywhere He leads me in this world below. Anywhere without Him dearest joys would fade. Anywhere with Jesus I am not afraid. Anywhere , anywhere... any little fear I'll never know. Anywhere with Jesus I can safely go.. Anywhere with Jesus I am not alone. Those are some of the words of Amy Grants song that I listened to today. We can go anywhere with Jesus and feel safe and secure, knowing that He has a plan for our lives. He loves us and in Jeremiah 29:11 He says, "I know the thoughts I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. I am clinging to that hope at this time because the man I love with all my heart is suffering and I can do nothing to help relieve his pain, only the Lord can help. So, anywhere you want to take us Jesus we are ready to go. We rely on your strength and your comfort to pave the way. We trust in you and ask for your help and guidance at this difficult time of our lives. Bill this is for you, I love you more today than when we were married 18 years ago and I'll continue to love you forever My love. Turn you eyes upon Jesus!!

Daily Study

I was reading one of my daily devotionals today (Daily Bread) and at the end there was a thought for the day. Bible study is not merely to inform us-it's meant to transform us. Think about that for a minute, reading and studying your Bible should be more than just a learning tool, it should help us to become more Christlike, more Godly , more spiritual. Christ dwells in us and our lives and our attitudes should reflect the fact that He is the one who guides and directs our daily path. Do we do that? I know that I don't as much as I would like too. It is a constant struggle to keep Christ at the center of mine and Bill's life. We don't do a very good job at times, but we keep trying. I so desire to be that Acts 2:42 Christian. Acts 2:42 says,"And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking bread, and in prayers." "The Word of Christ should dwell in us richly." Col.3:16

The Lord is a still small voice.

This morning I was reading Daily Bread, it is a daily devotional and the Lord spoke in that still small voice. The Daily Bread reading was about Elijah and his depression after he had defeated the prophets of Baal. We all go through some form of depression in our lives, but those of us who know Christ have that knowledge that Christ is there to lean on, no matter what the circumstances that surround us. In
1 Kings 19:11-12 the Lord speaks to Elijah in that still small voice.
11 Then He said, “Go out, and stand on the mountain before the LORD.” And behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake; 12 and after the earthquake a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice.
We just have to be still and listen and the Lord will speak to our hearts and give us the encouragement we need to lift us out of the depression and help us realize the joy only he can give to us. I encourage you to listen to some of the old hymns like He Touched Me, Victory in Jesus, How Great Thou Art, etc. They offer strength and encouragement for your soul. Only through Christ can we have true joy and victory in our lives. Remember Christ is there to guide and direct our lives, as long as we allow him to be part of that life.

Ode to a Beautiful woman!

I would like to take a moment to mention what a wonderful, Godly woman the Lord has BLESSED me with!!!!! I venture to say that not many women would be able to put up with me for very long, but Patty not only does this, but she is also kind and thoughtful, always conscious of others and their needs. She is sensitive and loving, a dedicated employee on her job, sometimes to to point of tears for want of a way to be able to accomplish the impossible demands of her position. She has taken on my three sons as her own and shown them the love many birth mothers don't even give. We have been married for 17 wonderful years and I can honestly say we have not had any real fights which totally amazes me! Don't get me wrong, we are human, after all, we do have times when we may get on each others nerves! But I guess God has given us both the wisdom to be able to read the signs of frustrations at the time so that we give each other space at these times and come back to it later if it needs discussion, and not if it doesn't. All this to say, I love Patty dearly and I thank God for Blessing me with an angel in disguise!
A grateful husband,
